Matt is employed by Deep Sea Electronics Limited as an embedded systems engineer, a multi-discipline role in the standby electrical power industry. Matt is mostly involved in writing and maintaining embedded C software for generator set controllers & displays, and CAN interface modules for prime movers, mostly using the SAE J1939 protocol, but also of proprietary protocols. Other roles have included hardware design, testing, on-site customer support, and liaising with engine manufacturers.
Matt has extensive experience of Microsoft Team Foundation Server & Subversion source control systems and the IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM IDE.
Matt has good experience of the STM32F10x & STM32F20x series of microcontrollers from ST Microelectronics. In addition, Matt has also had experience of the LPC2478, LPC1788, LPC4357 from NXP, and the AT91SAM7 series of microcontrollers from Atmel.
Outside of work, Matt is involved with The Clay Cross Model Railway Society, a registered charity, being nominated as Secretary in 2017. In addition, he has upgraded the society's website.
Matt also funds Skincell, a website providing a forum for support and information for people who suffer with a skin condition.
